You are able to receive quality mental health services without receiving a mental illness diagnosis, allowing us to provide the most ethical, honest and accurate care. You will not be limited to a daily or annual session limit imposed by an insurance company, and can continue therapy until you feel ready to discharge. This also means that you can do multiple services on the same day, such as individual therapy and group therapy. Your insurance company cannot access your chart and use your mental health record to increase your insurance premiums or deny you coverage in the future.
If you wish to proceed with private pay services but still use your out of network benefits, we can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement depending on your specific plan. Many insurance companies will reimburse you some percentage of the money you send on therapy. Call your insurance company to ask them how that works and if they will reimburse you for services provided by Gilbert Counselors.
Private Pay Rates:
Therapy with a Masters Level Clinical Intern: $70
Therapy with a Licensed Associate Counselor: $115
Therapy with a Licensed Professional Counselor: $150-$175
If you are looking to find free counseling services you may be able to find this at some of the agencies who get funding from governmental entities. Gilbert Counselors does not get any outside funding and is not able to offer free counseling.
Our internship program is staffed with hand-picked graduate students who are completing their studies toward mental health licensing. When you work with an Intern, you get services in a private practice setting, for an affordable fee, and personalized care. Working with an Intern is like having two counselors for the price of one: your Intern counselor who is guided and coached by their clinical supervisor! Clients seeing Interns will have a low-cost fee of $70 per session.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
