Benjamin John, LAC-T

Background

I am a Licensed Associate Counselor (Temporary) working under the direct supervision of Terri Roman (LPC). Throughout my training, I have developed an appreciation for diverse therapeutic perspectives, which has shaped my approach to counseling and allowed me to connect with clients from various backgrounds and experiences.

Specializations

I provide support for clients experiencing a range of challenges, including anxiety and depression, behavioral issues, coping skills development, grief processing, family & relationship issues, trauma recovery, and veterans' concerns.

Therapeutic Approach

I embrace an eclectic approach to therapy, drawing inspiration from multiple evidence-based modalities: Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. This integrated methodology allows me to tailor treatment to each client's unique needs, helping them reconcile with past trauma, live more fully in the present, and develop hope for the future.

I understand that experiencing overwhelming distress such as anxiety, depression, or grief can make us feel as though we've lost control, leaving us confused or lost. My commitment is to remind you that you are not alone. By developing a therapeutic relationship based on empathy and non-judgment, we can work together to navigate and overcome life's difficult experiences. I am eager to meet you and begin this healing journey together.

Ben Price, LAC

Background

I am a Licensed Associate Counselor working under the direct supervision of Terri Roman. My academic credentials include a bachelor's degree in psychology and a Master of Counseling from the University of Phoenix. Prior to my counseling career, I served nine years in the United States Army—an experience that profoundly shaped my perspective and approach to life. The lessons learned during and after my military service have been instrumental in my personal development, teaching me to embrace my journey rather than criticize past choices. This philosophy of growth through experience forms the foundation of my counseling practice.

Specializations

I specialize in working with:

  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Addiction recovery
  • Life transitions
  • Anxiety management
  • Family conflict resolution
  • Relationship issues
  • Veterans' mental health

My background as a veteran gives me unique insight into military culture and the challenges of service members transitioning to civilian life. I create a safe space for clients to explore their challenges while recognizing their inherent strengths and resilience.

Therapeutic Approach

My counseling methodology integrates evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Humanistic therapy, Mindfulness-Based interventions, and Existential approaches. This combination allows me to address both thought patterns and deeper questions of meaning and authenticity.

I believe in examining positives rather than condemning negatives as a pathway to healing. My practice centers on attentive listening—hearing not only what clients say about their current struggles but also what they aspire to become. Together, we work to identify thought patterns that may be creating obstacles and develop strategies to align your actions with your authentic self.

I recognize that we spend much of our time caught in our thoughts or distractions, often losing sight of our inherent worth and accomplishments. My role is to provide support and guidance when you find yourself at odds with yourself, helping you reconnect with your strengths and chart a purposeful path forward.

Insurance

I accept Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), and Cigna insurance plans.
