Hi! My name is Tyler, and I am an intern with Gilbert Counselors pursuing my Master’s degree in counseling. In recent years, I found myself increasingly drawn
to mental health after experiencing the benefits of therapy in my own life. Working under the direct supervision of Terri Roman (LPC), I am eager to apply my education in the
therapeutic setting, to help my clients learn practical skills and help empower my clients to take more accountability for their lives.
While prioritizing your mental health can be immensely challenging, you don’t need to face life’s challenges alone therapy exists to support you in finding the necessary balance in your life. I believe the ultimate form of self-care is learning
to mitigate chronic stress through the development of life -long coping skills.
Throughout my program, I’ve gravitated toward modalities including cognitive- behavioral and person-centered therapies. I am inspired by logotherapy, EMDR, and other emerging therapies which focus on addressing trauma.
Traumatic experiences can adversely affect our lives, but they do not entirely define us. My role as a counselor is to act as a guide — helping you identify and remove obstacles that can impede you on your path to personal growth.
