“Life can only be understood backward, but it must be lived forward.” Soren Kierkegaard
This quote sums up how I approach counseling. I work with clients to understood and process the past so they can move forward into a healthier future. With an understanding and appreciation for our histories, we can take our lessons forward, creating the lives we instinctively know we deserve. Using therapeutic tools such as Eye Movement Desensitization
Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and narrative therapy, I create the space necessary for clients to process the past, explore the present and live into the future. Addressing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, work conflict and the other issues present in modern life, I work with clients to better understand their circumstances, environments, and relationships. This work is both conceptual and concrete. We talk and take action. This is how we move and live forward.
I work with teenagers and adults ages 14+ in individual therapy. I have an MS in Clinical Mental Health and am a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) working under the direct supervision of Julia Spain (LPC). In my free time, I enjoy writing, am a mother of two teenagers and a pig. Yes, a pig mom. I look forward to meeting with you, hearing your story and working together to meet your life goals in counseling.
I am able to accept Aetna PPO, Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Cigna PPO, and/or private pay clients.
