Hello! My name is Stephanie, and I am an Intern Counselor under the direct supervision of Julia Spain, PLLC. I also work as an Academic Counselor for the University of Phoenix and help restore student’s self- confidence after negative school experiences by challenging student’s limiting beliefs and reframing incidents as a learning experience. I help students change their negative perception of the learning environment by teaching proactive communication strategies and project management skills that enable students advance forward.
I hold a B.S. in Psychology and a B.S in Social Science from Idaho State University and I am currently finishing my Masters of Science in Counseling with an emphasis in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling with the University of Phoenix.
I am honored to be a part of the Gilbert Counselors’ community and look forward to developing my therapeutic approaches in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I have always had a passion in helping children, teens, and individuals discover they have had the strength within them all along to overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
Personally, I enjoy the outdoors: Camping, Hiking and Fishing. I also embrace my inner nerd through a good book or video games.
Please fill out and bring to your intake session. We will review if there are any questions. Thank you!
