I am a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing in the mental health field since 1992. I completed a BA Degree in Psychology and an MA Degree in Counseling at the University of North Dakota. My experience as a mental health professional has allowed me to work with children, families, couples, individuals and groups.
I have also had opportunity to serve as a Clinical Supervisor both in the Community Agency setting and as a Private Practitioner. Currently, I am registered to provide Clinical Supervision in the state of Arizona to student interns as well as those who are working towards Licensure.
Though I originally began as a child and family therapist, my interests have grown over the years to include working with individuals using a variety of treatment modalities including promoting Mindfulness practice, meditation and other empowering tools to help clients manage and overcome stress, anxiety, OCD, depression and life adjustments. Additionally, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help people understand how thoughts and beliefs affect feelings and behavior. I have a special interest in working with those who have been impacted by trauma. I am trained in EMDR and utilize this mode of therapy regularly to help my clients process and resolve past trauma.
My belief is that people grow and reach their highest potential in warm, accepting and non-judgmental environments, and I strive to provide this atmosphere to my clients. I take a collaborative approach in helping clients meet their identified therapy goals. It is truly an honor to be included in the personal journeys of others!
