Hello! My name is Rasha. I am a licensed associate counselor (LAC) contracted with Gilbert Counselors. I completed my masters program in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University. I have a B.A. in Psychology from Arizona State University.
Prior to obtaining my master’s degree, I worked in the behavioral health field for 8+ years. One of the various roles I've held included a behavioral health supervisor working with teens and young adults. As a therapist, I strive to foster an environment in which the client feels they can be authentic, genuine, and that is absent of all judgments.
I have specialized training in trauma and am recognized as Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) by the International Trauma Foundation. My passion is working with individuals with various types of trauma, as well as with domestic violence victims.
In addition to my trauma training, I take an eclectic approach to therapy and incorporate dialectic behavioral therapy (DBT) into my theoretical approach. I am also birth to five trained and have much experience working with the birth to 5 population and play therapy.
I enjoy working with clients of all age ranges and helping with various issues that can occur in life. I believe in working with an individual in a holistic manner in order to support them in reaching their goals.
I also facilitate our Mindfulness and Meditation practice on Tuesday's mornings at 10am. Please check our calendar tab for more information.
"The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. The fears are paper tigers. You can do anything you decide to do. You can act to change and control your life; and the procedure, the process is its own reward.” -Amelia Earhart
