Terri and I first met in a Maricopa County Head Start classroom in November 1998. After working in the field of education and mental health for some time, we each realized that we wanted to be able to work with people on a deeper level and made the decision to return to school. We chose the Master of Counseling program with University of Phoenix. Once earning our degrees, we were accepted into the Residency Program with Phoenix Interfaith Counseling where we received intense training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and the invaluable experience of working with clients with Serious Mental Illness. We continued with PIC and attained our independent licenses and began to supervise new counselors.

In 2006 we made the decision to step out on our own and start our individual private practices. We took with us the knowledge and training in CBT and DBT we received at PIC and soon realized how rewarding it would be to offer our services to work with the people in our community. From time to time we discussed the idea of opening a counseling center with the goal of not only providing professional counseling services to clients but also a place to train new therapists joining the field. In November 2017 the opportunity presented itself. With the collaboration with our amazing office manager, Caterina, Gilbert Counselors, LLC was created and we opened our door January 1st, 2018.

For our clients we offer individual, couples, family and group counseling. We have DBT skills training groups for both adolescents and adults. We are also pleased to offer Mindfulness & Meditation classes.

For new counselors, we offer a training program that exceeds the requirements of both the graduate programs as well as the AZ Board in terms of supervision, clinical hours, and training. We provide both internship and residency opportunities.

We are proud of the work we do and of the level of professional services we offer. We are here to help and look forward to answering any questions you may have and hopefully to meeting with you soon.
