My name is Meagan MacCleary and I am a Resident Therapist at Gilbert Counselors, licensed through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. I received my Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work degrees from Arizona State University. I have over seven years of experience in the behavioral health field.
As a therapist, I am passionate about helping individuals identify and accomplish their goals and live a peaceful, balanced life. By utilizing various counseling modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy, I assist clients in examining the connection between thoughts, feelings and behaviors. I have a special interest in teaching mindfulness, cognitive restructuring, emotion regulation, grounding techniques, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, judgement-free environment where clients feel heard, supported and empowered to utilize their strengths and skills through difficult life transitions.
I have advanced education, training and experience working with survivors of trauma, including but not limited to, domestic violence, sexual assault and childhood trauma. I work with a wide variety of populations, including adolescents, teenagers and adults. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, self- esteem, substance use disorder, relationship issues and difficult life transitions. I look forward to working with you!
