My name is Jae Bunn. I am a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) here at Gilbert Counselors. I graduated with my Masters of Counseling from Arizona State University. I have worked in non-profit community behavioral health agencies before transitioning to Gilbert Counselors. I have experience working in the community and outpatient settings. I became interested in the mental and behavioral health field back in 2016 after completing volunteer work abroad where I recognized the importance of wellness –to include mental health, not just physical health – in shaping one’s life.
I have interest and varied experiences with trauma-informed care, inter-generational issues, relational issues, first-generation American issues, college student problems, phase of life problems, anxiety, depression, matters regarding social justice, diversity, equity, inclusion and the LGBTQ+ community. My goal is to aid the community and the individuals who are part of the community in better managing problems, influence growth, realize their potential and create positive change. I recognize the importance of a holistic approach to wellness and hope to help others thrive in their life through self-reflection, self-advocacy and self-compassion.
I integrate various modalities, techniques and theories of counseling, such as, but not limited to: Adlerian, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Gestalt. I recognize the importance of tailoring clients’ sessions to best fit their needs and collaborate on finding the best approach when possible.
Overall, I am honored to work with individuals to help them learn more about themselves and discover what their life of wellness looks like.
