Evelyn Herrington, MC Intern

Hi, my name is Evelyn Herrington. I am a practicum student under the supervision of Julia Spain. PLLC.

With faith as a touchstone of my counseling, I want to help families cultivate nurturing relationships. I am committed to helping individuals, couples, and families coping with injury, disability, or career challenges become healthy, loving families. My approach to counseling is strongly influenced by research on how secure loving attachments stimulate positive brain growth and development. I integrate the principles of collaborative conflict resolution and reconciliation with stress management through mindfulness, emotional regulation, and interpersonal skills.

A Vocational-Rehabilitation Counselor for the State of Arizona, my Master of Science degree in Organizational Human Resource Development / Conflict Resolution complements my Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling. The most rewarding part of my work is helping clients discover their calling and create a viable career plan. I have learned so much from these amazing clients, and they often have issues that impact the health of their families as well.

I seek individuals and families who desire a spiritual foundation to therapy, individuals or families coping with acute or chronic illness or adjusting to disability as well as couples contemplating or going through divorce. Together, we can work through challenges, develop greater resilience, and achieve your goals. With Advanced and Divorce Mediation certificates, I can help parents create a court approved parenting plan that protects the children.

In my personal life, I love spending time with family and friends. I love strength training and cardio, counted cross-stitch, and inspirational movies about people who aspire to create positive change in the world.
