Hi, my name is Christine Burr and I am a Licensed Associate Counselor working under the direct supervision of Julia Spain, LPC. I completed my Bachelor’s degree at University of Alaska, Fairbanks and earned my Master’s in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University, here in Phoenix. I work with children, adults, and couples of all ages.
It takes a brave person to reach out for assistance during challenging times, of which we all experience. It is important to find a counselor that you can build a working relationship during those trying times. I like to incorporate a universal assortment of therapeutic applications, in efforts to help you find your solutions. Some of those include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and techniques that help build coping skills for you to learn new behaviors, in efforts to change less favored behaviors.
Having worked in the field of mental health care for over 20 years, I have learned we all have our individual needs. As we age and cross many milestones, we may find ourselves trying to navigate unfamiliar territories, in our lives. Many of these can be confusing and stressful. Finding our comfort zone in challenging times such as educational and professional transitions, anxieties, past traumas, chronic illnesses, depression, and challenging relationships, loss of those we love, mood disorders, and finding we have taken on too many stresses, is not easy and we may find ourselves in need of guidance and supports. These are real emotions we have and we need to be able to express ourselves.
Working together, we can coordinate and design an individual passage for you to find successes.
I am able to accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, AETNA, CIGNA insurances and/or private pay clients.
